Walking on Avenida Vieira Souto: The Famous Ipanema Beach

Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro is among one of the most famous beaches in the world, with songs referencing its beauty. Ipanema Beach is often considered one of the best beaches in Brazil. What I learned in February 2021 is that Rio de Janeiro has its own surf culture. Early in the morning, you can see people taking lessons and also the locals catching waves before the waves calm.
